Welcome to the new Serveis Funeraris Reus website. Since the municipal company Gesfursa was set up in 1988, its mission and goal have always been to provide citizens with the best possible service at such a difficult time as the death of a loved one.

The traditional place for a wake has always been the home: complicated, difficult times are experienced in the domestic setting, the private space. However, now that we are seeing a process whereby these household functions are being externalised, we need to be able to provide this service on a rigorously professional basis, but above all in a deeply human way.

This is why, contrary to what one might think, our work is directed primarily at the family and friends who have to experience this time of mourning. We set out to deal with them in a professional manner, without too much fuss but in a close, personal way.

We are determined to expand and improve our services, and this leads us to make constant improvements to the cemetery, to build new facilities - the crematorium and the room for ceremonies - and to bring the subject of funeral services closer to the public in an accessible way, from a historical viewpoint, with the book El Cementiri General de Reus (Reus general cemetery). This intention is also illustrated by the construction of this website, which provides you with all the information you need in the event of a death in the family.
